Over three sessions, we'll cover all the essentials to make your bag, and you'll have Jane by your side to answer your questions. This is very much a sashiko technique based workshop that includes transferring hitome-zashi, and kuguri-zashi patterns. It's assumed you will have basic bag making skills.
Each session runs for 3 hours from 9.30am - 12.30pm

- Session 2: February 21st
- Session 3: March 7th
The required kit is $79.50 and will be sent to you in plenty of time for the first session.
The kit includes:
- BeBe Bold 'Daisy' fabric
- Navy fabric (5in square) for sashiko dragonfly
- Hana fukin (sampler - 3mm dot grid) H-14106
- Assortment of fabrics: primarily blue
- Needles
- Bag tape
- White sashiko thread
- Two strands of variegated thread for dragonfly
- Chaco paper
- Instructions
Requirements:
- 40cm wide piece lightweight iron-on interfacing
- 40cm fabric for lining
- Sharp scissors
- Quilters square ruler (approximately 12.5in)
- Cutting mat and rotary cutter
- Ball point pen
- Fine sashiko thread for appliqué (White #201 and Mustard #205 used in sample, but any thread would be OK)
- Sashiko thimble (Optional)
- Sticky tape
- Pins
- Washout fabric marking pen
- 4in circle template (if available)

- Thread preparation
- Transferring patterns and stitching: Dragonfly and Steam Rising
Session 2:
- Daisy block
- Daises and Crosses
Session 3:
- Spiral squares
- Transferring and hitomezashi and Kuguri-Zashi patterns
- Bag assembly
