Inspired by the beauty of traditional Japanese temari, the Hanamari design combines delicate flowers with the graceful form of a decorative mari ball.
Long admired as symbols of happiness, harmony and good fortune, temari bring timeless elegance to this beautiful Hana Fukin placemat.
Pre-stencilled on traditional Japanese sarashi cotton, the printed markings disappear with the first wash. Wonderfully absorbent, practical and durable, this handmade placemat will soften beautifully with every use.
Our extensive range of single-coloured and variegated sashiko threads enables you to create many unique colour and design variations which can be used simply as designed as a placemat or or table runner, or you could use the design to create the perfect sized cushions, some unique wall art, a bag, incorporate in a quilt or a garment, eg a jacket.
