Introduction to sashiko which includes a little history about the different types of sashiko and their origins. You will learn how to transfer patterns onto fabric and the techniques for sashiko stitching while making a sample that could be used in a bag or cushion or the beginning of a quilt.
This session will be focused on hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko). You will learn how to draw a grid and how to stitch various hitomezashi patterns. The sample can then be made into a coaster or pin cushion.
This session will be an introduction to kogin. Learn the simple techniques while making a sample that can be made into a coaster or pin cushion.
Requirements sheet will be available on receipt of the workshop.
There is a kit available which can be requested.
To join you must be able to download the application Zoom and have reasonable internet speeds to be able to use online video streaming.
