Experience the tradition of Nagai Sashiko - the living wisdom of hand-stitched tradition.
More than 400 years ago, in the Took region, a unique technique was developed to survive the hard cold by layering cotton cloth, which was very valuable at the time, and stitching it with sashiko stitch to reinforce and protect against the cold. Each region developed tsunami own methods, patterns, and techniques and each developed into a sashiko unique to that region.
